The event MedVentures « ICT Business Forum» 13 October 2011 in Marseille, France brought together more than 150 selected participants from more than 10 countries selected for their potential, international dimension and capacity to develop Euro-Med businesses and partnerships: entrepreneurs, talents, investors, innovation and business clusters, large corporations of 15 European and Mediterranean countries.

Marseille, 13 october 2011 – The MedVentures ICT Business Forum was held in Marseille on 13 October 2011, bringing together more than 170 innovation and entrepreneurship stakeholders from 5 European countries (Belgium, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, UK,) and from 7 South-Mediterranean countries (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel). ICT applications issues (Mobile Applications, multimedia, 2.0 platforms, E-Health, M-Tourism, etc.), were addressed during this forum, through concrete projects and proposals.

Entrepreneurs, large companies, innovation and business clusters (incubators, technopoles, etc.), and investors gathered on this occasion, including Nokia, Tiscali, STMicroelectronics Casablanca Technopark, Invest in Israel, the European Investment Bank, Algerian Start-up Initiative, If and Then Ventures, Middle East Ventures Partners, European Business and Innovation Center Network (EBN), OASIS 500, and many others. ICT applications issues (Mobile Applications, multimedia, 2.0 platforms, E-Health, M-Tourism, etc.), were addressed during this forum.

With strong markets growths, major investments in innovation, Mediterranean partner countries offer strong opportunities for the growth and competitiveness of European companies. Europe represents a springboard towards new markets and technology providers for South-Mediterranean investors. How to adapt to the North and South-Mediterranean markets? What synergies to build tomorrow's economic leaders at a Euro-Mediterranean level? Which outsourcing models? These issues have been tackled during the ICT Forum, through entrepreneurs projects and concrete proposals of action platforms.

Based on an innovative format, this forum enabled to:
Develop business partnerships in the North and South Mediterranean
Identify new business opportunities, and expectations in term of international partnerships, thanks to market datas, testimonials, etc.)
Promote more than 30 ICT start-ups from 12 countries and heir international development project.
Highlight international platforms supporting innovation and entrepreneurship
Offer concrete proposals to implement regional actions for entrepreneurs, particularly concerning incubation, mentoring, or financing.
